Leagues start all the time. Operating plans almost never come with them.
A league usually opens on enthusiasm, and the first season often fills on it. Season two is where it gets decided, when the schedule slips, teams fold midseason and players stop hearing from anyone after they pay.
A registration platform can take payments. It doesn't tell you the format your space can hold, what to charge, who runs game night or what makes players feel like the league is theirs.
The Rec League Startup Plan puts that on paper before you open registration. It starts with your sport, ages, space and nights, then works through format, schedule, pricing, staffing and the game-night experience, so you launch with an operating plan you own. ASV writes the plan. You run the league

How the engagement works
Send the league intake. Tell us the sport, ages, space, nights and who will run the league day to day.
ASV reviews fit. If the plan fits the league and the decision, we send an agreement and invoice.
Sign and pay. The $3,500 fee is paid in full with the signed agreement. Work starts once both are complete.
ASV writes the plan. We build the written startup plan from your intake and follow up if anything needs clarifying.
Walk through it with Alan. A 45-minute session to go through the plan and your questions. The book comes with it.

FAQ
What does it cost?
$3,500 fixed for one league, including the intake review, the written startup plan, a 45-minute walkthrough with Alan and How to Build a Rec League (the manuscript now, the published copy when it ships). It's paid in full with the signed agreement, before the plan is written.
The intake form is free to submit and does not commit you to buy. Nothing is charged unless ASV confirms fit and you sign the agreement.
How long does it take?
Timing depends on how complete the intake is and how quickly follow-up questions get answered. After ASV confirms fit, the agreement sets the delivery and walkthrough dates. There's no calendar booking before the signed agreement and payment.
Which sports does it cover?
One sport per plan. Basketball, soccer and softball or baseball are the common sports. If yours is something else, say so in the intake and ASV will confirm fit. Volleyball leagues are currently not a fit for this plan.
Do you run the league?
No. ASV writes the plan. Registration, scheduling, staffing, officiating and game nights stay with you and your team.
Do you guarantee teams or enrollment?
No. The plan lays out format, pricing scenarios and the assumptions behind them so you can make a realistic launch decision. We don't fill teams, promise enrollment or guarantee revenue. Those depend on execution and your market.
What if we want more than one league?
The plan is priced per league because each sport, age group and space runs differently. Submit the intake for the league you want to launch first and note the others. ASV will confirm what makes sense; no multi-league discount is promised in advance.
What should we have ready?
Share what exists: the sport and age groups, where and when it will play, your first-season team target, any past league history, and who handles registration and game-night operations. Missing details don't automatically disqualify you; the intake helps ASV judge whether there's enough to proceed.
