Alan Arlt is an accomplished Senior Business Executive and Entrepreneur with more than 20 years of success across the TV, advertising, sports, fitness, and health & wellness industries. Leveraging extensive experience increasing department revenues and building businesses to the point of acquisition and beyond, he is a valuable partner in helping companies work on pre-product market fit, sponsorship development, or on taking a product to scale throughout the country in different markets.

His broad areas of expertise include business operations, sales & marketing, brand development, digital marketing, team building, risk management, social media, negotiations, strategic planning, and project management.

Throughout his executive career, Mr. Arlt has held leadership positions at companies including Life Time, Ultimate Hoops Inc., and Discovery Communications Inc.

As Senior Director of Basketball Operations for Life Time since 2008, he has continued on with the company after it acquired the basketball entertainment company Ultimate Hoops that he founded in 2006.

With Ultimate Hoops, he offered the world’s first recreational basketball league with a fully interactive website, grew the customer base and revenue every fiscal quarter including sponsorship packages with high level clients such as Merrill Lynch and General Mills, and negotiated an acquisition deal with Life Time that yielded significant ROI. 

He has since scaled Ultimate Hoops with Life Time to 112 locations to become the largest recreational basketball and skills training organization in the U.S.

Prior to Ultimate Hoops, he spent six years with Discovery Communications in New York City, where he rose to National Manager of Marketing & Sponsorships. Here he increased sponsorship revenue from $30 million in 1998 to a category leading $90 million in 2000, worked with network producers to conceptualize storylines that promoted advertiser brands through product placement, and led generation of more than $120 million in advertising revenue in 2003. Earlier he worked as a Sales Associate with the TBS and TNT Networks for Turner Broadcasting

Mr. Arlt holds a BA in English and Journalism from the University of Minnesota. He was voted a Top Speaker at the Life Time Fitness Companies Inside Expo in 2010.

Away from operating his day-to-day business, he enjoys mentoring, coaching and advising other entrepreneurs and business leaders. He has given talks on the topics of entrepreneurship and how to scale businesses at the University of St. Thomas. He continues to share his story in business publications like Twin Cities Business Magazine and on podcasts, including John Lee Dumas' "Best of iTunes" Entrepreneur On Fire podcast. 

Mr. Arlt currently resides in Minneapolis with his wife Mary and their two daughters, Olivia and Mila.
